Great for non-bleeding
This ink does not bleed in Gallery Leather or Passion Planners, even with a broad or medium nib. The color is a bit standard, but it might be mixable with some Scabiosa to make it pop

Happy to sample this one
I've been meaning to grab a sample of this as it has been referenced to many times through out the stationery community. I was all too happy to pick up a sample from my favorite on...view moreline pen shop. While I won't be grabbing a bottle of this anytime soon, it is nice to change things up from my regular ink lineup from time to time. This fit the bill nicely. I would buy a bottle if I didn't already have so many. Such is the life of a stationery nerd like myself. Give this one a go. view less

Excellent All-Purpose Ink
I think Salix is a great all-purpose ink, especially for professional settings. The ink goes on a more vivid dark blue, but it dries to a deep navy that grows darker as it oxidizes...view more. Water resistance is near perfect. I never had any problems with maintenance, even in steel-nibbed pens. Salix also cleans out easily, which I appreciate in a waterproof ink. view less

Regarding Salix IG
I will preface my remarks by stating that I've never used an Iron Gall ink before and have no idea what to expect. I put it in my Platinum Prefounte M (its broad!!) pen and started...view more writing. On Apica paper it seemed dry but there was good ink flow. The ink goes down a light blue and does darken as it dries but not as much as I expected. I thought a dark navy but it was just a little bit darker. This ink does shade a bit and the ink flows very well. It wrote very well (no bleed through) on paper unfriendly to fountain pens. Can I recommend, I will say yes but feel the pen I used is holding it back. Verdigris is my daily go to ink. I'll chalk my hesitation to a lack of experience with Iron Gall ink. I will compare it to the Rohrer&Klingner document inks I purchased. Maybe it's the permanent characteristics. view less
