Evaporation? Nope!
I've been through a large number of pens in my days with Fountain Pens, and the majority of them have disappointed me by allowing the unforgivable sin of letting ink evaporate from...view more the nib even while capped. The OPUS 88 approach, using a piston-based stopper to seal-off the nib section from the ink chamber is such a simple way to solve this problem that I'm surprised more pens don't do the same. Great, great pen! Feels great in the hand and the build quality is perfection. There will be more OPUS 88 in my collection soon. view less

Excellent quality, great price, great gift
Although I don't know much about pens, my daughter is an artist and has a collection of quality pens for her beautiful handwriting. I ordered the Opus 88 for her birthday gift. She...view more was so excited that she filled it with ink immediately, and the eyedropper made the pen's large tank easy to fill. She started writing and said that she loves the smooth flow of this pen and that it is comfortable to hold. As for Vanness, I'm very impressed. I received my order within three days with free shipping. The free gift wrapping was quality, and the box was wrapped very neatly. I'm very pleased with the Vanness family's attention to detail, as much as my daughter is pleased with her new Opus 88. view less

Great Value for Money
There aren't many eyedropper fountain pens with one way shut off valves in this price range. Usually, you have to pay upwards to 4 figures to acquire a fountain pen like this in t...view morehe Japanese market. The Namiki Emperor comes to mind. The Opus 88 pen writes well and it is comfortable enough to write for long sessions. The body of the barrel is also transparent enough, so you can see how much ink is left in its very generous reservoir. I might actually buy this pen again in a different color. view less
