Excellent Color
This ink is just a little lighter than Waterman Serenity Blue. It flows very well in a Lamy 2000.

My favorite blue; a cool violet-tinged blue with brilliant shading characteristics.
I loved Topaz w/its dynamic coloring and shading attributes so couldn't wait to try the Sapphire. Not as dynamic in coloring of course, but like its counterpart a well behaved ink...view more that cleans easily out of pens and flows beautifully from your pens, no issues. Like other Edelstein inks its not waterproof but if this has not dissuaded you read on. Many have bought this ink based on their love of the Topaz, many seem to be annoyed that it lacks the depth and color that Topaz embodies. Shame on them I say. Sapphire looks Violet Blue in the bottle and it goes on your papers Violet but then changes color to a beautiful Blue-Violet Blue before your eyes while it drys, which it does rather quickly. The shading is fabulous, very high in flex pens and brushes, but nearly any pen that will show off its attributes. It is not high on saturation, more of a light almost sheer quality to this ink; I call it Ethereal Blue, so if you looking for a highly saturated or a deep-toned blue keep looking, this one is not for you. In fact, if enough of you don't buy it, it'll always be in stock for me and those who appreciate its phenomenal shading, flow and easy cleanup from their pens and beautiful color changing brilliance. Love it for its attributes don't hate it for what it is not. view less
