Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-kai, aka Deep Sea, is made in Japan and is an interesting medium blue-black with some medium shading and some red sheen on Tomoe River paper. It dries in 15 seconds in a medium nib on Rhodia and has a wet flow. This is a great everyday, work appropriate ink.

Nondescript
This is a rather nondescript faded navy blue without much shading. Nice flow, however, but fairly dry. No sheen on Leuchturm or mixed media paper.

nice ink, looks nothing like the swatch
This is a pretty standard office blue. it'd be good for business and school, and it writes very smoothly. However, it looks absolutely nothing liek the above swatch on paper. So, i...view moref that's the color you were hoping for you, you will likely be disappointed. It's much darker blue, and I would hardly call it blue-black either. It's just plain dark blue. Nice, but not what's advertised here. view less

This is the first Blue-Black i was exposed to, so I'm a little spoiled on quality here
Being my first blue-black, i had the initial amazement of this original color out of my pen, the shading and duality of this ink is still incredible. If you want to see the blue in...view moreit, you see mostly blue, if you look into the blacker parts of it, its either black shading to grey. Pilot really outdid themselves with this ink, i only bought a sample, but will make sure to buy a bottle when i can afford it. God bless you reader, EPH 2:8-9 view less
