Pomegranate Juice
This is a very wet bright red that strongly resembles pomegranate juice. It looks quite lush with wet nibs, and I was surprised that it does show shading if you use a dry pen, like...view more my Pilot Metropolitan stub. It's a beautiful clear shade, although a little flat. I did not get any sheen. view less

Yup. Pomegranate.
Scribo hit the nail on the head in naming this ink “Rosso Melograno”. It’s a pinkish red, quite saturated, at least in a wet Sailor 1911L 21kt H-MF nib. I obtained little to no sha...view moreding depending on the paper, and some gold-copper sheen on the outline of saturated areas. I can see some sort of orange tinge in certain areas of the swab. Rosso Melograno is close to Kaweco Ruby Red and Herbin Rouge Bourgogne. They are both slightly bluer, with the latter being lighter. Rosso Melograno is slightly yellower. I don’t have Iroshizuku Kosumosu, but Tsutsuji is brighter and bluer. It’s a nice colour, but too orange-pink for my tastes. I much prefer Scribo Rosso Chianti. I still gave it a 5-star because it performs flawlessly in my book, and I can’t fault the ink for my not liking the colour.
