Nothing Sandard about this Notebook
Great retro- military looking notebook.
The cover and back are made of a hard pressed board (similar to childrens books) which are perfect for writing on the go. You...view more can open the notebook flat, or completely flip it open and back on itself (to save space).
There is one elastic pen holder which would be good for a pencil or thin pen. A Blackwing pencil would look nice.
The book has an elastic closure and 3 ribbon type bookmarks. There are brass colored accents on the cover (rivets and pressed design) as well as a “PROPERTY OF” ID label.
The notebook is sewn and bound, making it very durable.
Inside there is a small pocket with a bullet template ruler, a place for your “custom” bullet key, a personal info page, and useful information pages.
The notebook then starts with lined pages. The pages are “framed”. At the top are abbreviations for each month as well as numbers for each day of the month. It is not specific to any year (yay!). There is a subject line and then just lines (each line has a box at the front- if you want to use as a bullet journal).
In the back there is a list of holidays as well as a Year as a glance (important dates).
The paper is a nice cream color, not yellow, not bright white.
The paper has a little tooth, but is very nice to write on. I am a Tomoe River girl, so very little feels as smooth.
I tried just about every pen point, gold, steel, XF to BB to Cross Music. Different inks, Pilot, Lamy, Robert Oster and many more.
The paper performed beautifully. Only my very wettest nibs had a tiny show through. Surprisingly it still showed some of the beautiful features of sheening and tonal inks.
If you like the look of this notebook, and love to bullet journal (or just want a new notebook); give this a try. view less
