Perfect blue for my collection
I love this ink. It is a true blue with a hint of red sheen! Definitely adding a bottle to my collection.

Bright and saturated
Diamine 150th Blue Velvet is a very bright and lively mid-blue with excellent saturation - subjectively, of course. It’s a very unique blue in my 70+ samples and bottles of blues. ...view moreIt lies between Diamine Sapphire Blue and Majestic Blue, not as red as the first, not as green as the second. It’s a bit redder than what I consider a cyan, but not yet a navy, and much less a blurple. While playing with ink drops on white TR 52gsm paper, I noticed that there is reddish sheen on the outside of the drops, making for a nice outline I note less sheen than Diamine Sargasso Blue. With Blue Velvet, the wetter the pen, the darker the ink, regardless of nib size: even my Sailor 1911S 21kt H-F nib lays down a fairly saturated line. I find that with most Diamine inks I have tried, there is a lot of showthrough on TR paper in heavy applications. To my eye, it’s what I consider a true blue. I wonder how it compares and contrasts with Robert Oster True Blue™. view less
