This is not a true grey, but more of a greyish blue that ends up being very beautiful. Consistent with Herbin's normal lineup of inks, Gris Nuage is an ink that is low in saturatio... view moren that dries very matte on the page. This is a barely there gray you see in clouds. It works well for art but most of the Herbin inks fade quicker than other inks! The bottle has a slot on which to rest your fountain... view morepen, just like Napoleon did when he used J. Herbin ink. I love it because it links me to ancient French writers I admire and history more than for the ink because the fading is a concern. view less
