Custom dark grey fountain pen ink made for the Nagasawa Pen Store in Japan.
The Hirano Gion Shrine has a panoramic view of the city of Kobe. Heike samurai leader Kiyomori planned many international trades in this shrine. The stairs leading up to the shrine are made of beautiful stones, which is what this grey ink color represents.

I was expecting a brownish undertone with this one
Unlike TAG Kyo-Iro Stone Road of Gion (or Gion's Cobblestones) which has a brown undertone, Kobe #59 Hirano Gion Romance Grey is a very dark grey similar to charcoal. It exhibits a...view more slight teal tinge out of the nib, which, luckily, disappears once dry. It has a silver-copper-gold sheen in heavy application, though I haven’t observed any during normal writing, even from a wet nib. Hirano Gion Romance Grey flows well in all my nibs, including my dry 1911S 21kt H-M nib, I find it has an average flow—definitely does not turn nibs into gushers. I’ve observed no feathering. I have quite a few greys: Diamine Earl Grey, Iroshizuku Fuyu-Syogun and Kiri-Same, Montblanc Oyster Grey, Stipula Fading Grey (Grigio Fumo), Herbin Gris Nuage and Kobe #10 Mikage Grey; Hirano Gion Romance Grey is a distinct colour. I think that if you like darker greys without a red or blue undertone, this one would make a good addition. view less
