Traditional carbon fiber is a fabric of thin fibers held together by a resin. It is lightweight and shock resistant but has many limitations, especially when used for writing instruments. It is extremely difficult to create complex curves of different inner and outer profiles.
Pineider resolves these issues with the introduction of the La Grand Bellezza Forged Carbon Limited Edition 888 collection, the first writing instruments ever constructed from this amazing material.
The forged carbon process forgoes weaving, instead using large amounts of casually arranged fibers mixed with resin, which is formed in a heated press at high pressure. The resulting compound is strong in every direction without the additional cost or complexity of having to add more than one layer of material the way you need to do with woven carbon fibers. A large part of the work in developing Forged Composite material has involved making sure that the end product is extremely strong. A further aesthetic bonus of casual fibers is that every end product is as unique as a snowflake. This Great Beauty is the first pen ever made in Forged Carbon.
To make the filling system more precious by imitating famous watch makers; Pineider has enriched the piston filler with a complication that allows the blind cap to hide in the barrel after having filled it, the Mystery Filler. The system is made from 7 parts that allow the activation of the piston button in a way that cannot interfere with the cap when posted. The outlook is beautiful with the activation spring and ball bearing going up and down; which allows the system to work. There are two demo versions , both limited Black Demo and Full Demo. The quill nib. Developed in 2017 and after long test is now ready for the release. Following the world trend for flexible nibs, The quill nib can be defined as hyperflex with an excellent memory.
Pineider has patented the twist magnetic cap lock system for its top-of-the-line models, combining the traditional appeal of the screw top with the immediacy and safety of magnetic closure. In Pineider’s patented system the polarization of the magnets permits soft opening and even more satisfying closure, allowing you to open the pen gently or else to watch it roll between your fingers until you hear the closing click.
The Clip: Since the fall of the Roman Empire the Goose Quill was the main writing instrument. The civilization of the modern World was written with the Goose Quill, from the Magna Carta to the American Declaration of Independence. The Gigas Codex, the greatest book of the Middle Ages, which required 30 years of flawless work, was called “The Bible of the Devil” because of the hard work needed to complete. Esoteric sources associate the Quill with hope, balance and good luck.
The Goose Quill, chosen by Pineider as its distinctive trademark, is interpreted freely as a function of each pen destined to receive it, fulfilling the fundamental function of holding the pen and allowing it to make a beautiful showing of itself.
