Bright shading blue
Beautiful vibrant blue that is well-behaved on a variety of papers with different nib sizes. And it's almost an exact match to my Sailor pro gear slim Blue Dwarf.

What is true blue?
I think we all have our idea of what a true blue should be. For me, it’s between cyan and navy blue. Robert Oster True Blue leans a bit green for my taste. It is similar to Kobe #6...view more6 Seishin Cobalt Blue, and a bit greener than Kobe #58 Hyogo Canal Blue. It is bluer than JH Kyanite du Népal but greener than Bungubox Omaezaki Ruri-Umi. It has a reddish-pinkish sheen on the outline at the edge, where the ink pools, but it is not generalized across the puddle. It is less lubricated that the Kobe inks; while being drier, it still coats the nib well. I would recommend this ink in wet writers, or dry writers with a smooth nib. For me, Kobe #37 Minatojima Island Blue comes closer to what I consider a true blue than RO’s True Blue. Name aside, it is a nicely coloured ink that I would use to take notes or write letters. I find it a bit blah for markups and corrections, just because I find it a bit dark. view less
