Not blue, not red. Magenta!
R&K Magenta is neither too blue nor too red. Smack in the middle of what I call magenta. I ordered a few samples of different pinks and magentas, and this one lies between the red-...view moreleaning ones and the blue-leanings ones. It is redder than Aurora Viola but bluer than Kobe #41 Suma Rikyu Rose and RO Hot Pink. Similar to P.W. Akkerman #12 Mauritshuis Magenta in tone, it is lighter and less saturated. I have observed no sheen under different light on TR 52 gsm paper. I prefer using this ink in wet nibs; in stingy nibs, I find it a tad dry and unpleasant. I’m always hesitant to remove a star because of personal preference so I’ll still give it a 5-star rating. But this sample will remain in my stash, no longer used, for a while at least. It’s a shame, because I find it’s a lovely colour. Maybe I’ll let some water evaporate and take for a spin at later time. view less
