Comprised of paper specially selected for its excellent writing quality, the Yamamoto Ro-Biki notebook is good for many writing utensils including pencils, ballpoint pens, and fountain pens. The cover is made of wax-coated kraft paper which has a smooth texture designed to show crinkles and scratches as it is used, leaving a unique and personal imprint. The paper inside is 100% recycled, warm chiffon cream colored. The saddle-stitch binding is strong and allows for 360° of motion.
The painting on the cover is Fuji Seen from Kanaya on the Tokaido by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, more commonly recognized by the single name Hokusai. Active during the Edo period, he is well known for his paintings and prints of traditional Japanese life and scenery. This painting shows a scene of travelers crossing the Kanaya River, with Mount Fuji in the background as viewed from the Tokaido road and is part of the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.
