What is a Shading Ink?

Shading is where an ink looks different depending on how saturated a particular spot of paper is with the ink. A shading ink might go from a light yellow at one end of a pen stroke to a deep gold at the other, thanks to its great shading abilities. The broader the nib the better the shading shows.
