The Kobe City Museum, located in the Former Settlement, is a neoclassical-style building that was converted from the Kobe Branch of the former Yokohama Specie Bank, which was completed in 1935. It is designated as a registered tangible cultural property of Japan as one of the masterpieces of the early Showa period. The museum's collection consists of archaeological and historical materials such as the Sakuragaoka Dotaku and Dotaku group (National Treasures), art materials such as Nanban Koge art, glass crafts, and old map materials.
"City Museum Gray" was born as a color suitable for expressing museums with the theme of domestic and international cultural exchange.
Please enjoy the calming warm gray that can be seen in the exterior of the building.
