Comprised of paper specially selected for its excellent writing quality, the Yamamoto Ro-Biki notebook is good for many writing utensils including pencils, ballpoint pens, and fountain pens. The cover is made of wax-coated kraft paper which has a smooth texture designed to show crinkles and scratches as it is used, leaving a unique and personal imprint. The paper inside is 100% recycled, warm chiffon cream colored. The saddle-stitch binding is strong and allows for 360° of motion.
The painting on the cover is Hyakkenzu by Japanese artist Ito Jakuchu. He was active during the Edo period and is most known for his depictions of traditionally Japanese subjects such as birds, particularly chickens. The original painting is privately owned.
