Van Dieman’s Bay of Fires Red from the Colours of Tasmania series is a medium vermillion red with an orange undertone and low shading. It dries in 10 seconds in a medium nib on Rhodia and has a slightly dry flow. Van Dieman’s ink is made in Australia.
Van Dieman's Bay of Fires Red is a hot furnace of color. The Bay of Fires, in Tasmania's rugged north east, was named by Captain Tobias Furneaux, when he sailed the Adventure past in 1773 and noticed the great number of Aboriginal fires. Today, the bay is best known for its Orange-Red stained granite stone which decorate the pristine white sandy beaches and illuminate red in the sunset light. This ink, rather than imitating this colour, aims to encapsulate the adventurous spirit of Tasmania. It is more vivid than the average red, with subtle hints of tangerine and magenta. Guaranteed not to clog or clot, you will be very happy with this little bottle of adventure.
