Looks like the swatch
This is a darkish, wet purple ink. Subtle when blotted with a tissue . I just discovered this line and am beginning to think it's a Robert Oster substitute! I plan to investigate m...view moreore inks. I believe they're mixable as well so if this is too purply for you, adding pink or red would take it up a notch. This is such a fun brand with colors that range from subtle to strong and they have a nice range of saturation as well. Fantastic prices too, especially for pouches. Thank you Vanness for exposing me to such an exhilarating variety of brands!!! view less

Beautiful purple ink with fantastic shading attributes.
The colors and shading qualities in this line are not dissimilar to both Herbin and Oster, sans the hefty price tag. I love this line of inks, and this color is my favorite. The ...view moreinkblot doesn't do it justice, but just try it in a calligraphy or brush pen or a favorite flexible nib fountain pen. All the colors I've tried from this line have shown the amazing shading qualities that I covet. They are on the dryer side, which I prefer in my pens save the driest writers. Clean up, something I get a lot of practice with, is a breeze - not just from fountain pens- from my clothing, sheets and even my white tile floor...yes, I'm a bit messy with ink. This color also birthed two new shades from testing... the bonus of having an extra 10 mls to play with after filling my bottle! I just ordered some empty glass bottles from Vanness to house my new colors (the mad scientist in me rejoiced)... Vanness is even engraving them at no extra charge, I can't wait to see them!!! They just went to the top of my Christmas list for that!
Vanness is an "OLD SCHOOL" stationery store that reminds me of my favorite stationery store (circa 1960's), a mom and pop shop with a vintage candy counter filled with clear glass apothecary jars that housed all the 2 for a penny gum and candies where I purchased all my stationery supplies and far too much candy. Mr & Mrs. B. always gave service with a smile, asked how about the family and gave you a piece of candy with purchases. They offered engraving services too, but never gratis! It is not only very time consuming but takes a very artistic and practiced hand to do engraving, especially on glass! Vanness, you have completely enchanted this very happy and forever loyal customer with your charms! Warmest regards, Lori P.S. Loved your Time Machine! view less
