What is a Shading Ink?

Shading is where an ink looks different depending on how saturated a particular spot of paper is with the ink. A shading ink might go from a light yellow at one end of a pen stroke to a deep gold at the other, thanks to its great shading abilities. The broader the nib the better the shading shows. Additionally different paper types mean different absorption rates and therefore less or more shading.
