What is Shimmer Ink?

Shimmer inks are inks that contain a very small partials of a shiny materials that are suspended in an ink solution. These materials add a glitter or glimmer effect when light is refracted. One common material used to get this effect is mica which can product beautiful effects in ink. A few things to think about before using shimmer inks is the Nib size of the pen; we recommend a medium nib or larger when using shimmer inks and this may need to be larger depending on the Ink and the size of the particles used to create the shimmer to reduce the chance of clogging. There is a little more pen maintenance when using shimmer inks so, you will need to clean your pen out a little more, to reduce the chance of clogging. The trade off is a well worth the effects, these inks are unique and stunning to look at on paper. Happy Inking, Vanness

Sheen, shimmer, and pigmented inks have the potential to settle over time. To ensure optimal performance, gently shake the bottles or use a clean syringe to remix your inks. This process will ensure you get the most out of your ink’s properties.  

Note: you do not want to create bubble in your ink so make sure to be very gentle while mixing.
