The original shape of the bottle, which is typified by the long neck with marble, derives from the thirties. In addition to the long neck, the bottle is characterized by the rounded shape and wide, stable base. The new 'Dutch Masters' bottle holds more than 120 ml (4.0 oz) and thus contains more than twice as much fountain pen ink as the "regular" Akkerman ink bottles.
By tilting the closed bottle the bottle neck itself with ink. When righted, the marble will fall vertically and prevent the ink to flow back. This creates a reservoir above the marble which is easy to fill, even if the jar is almost empty.

Really lovely deep red
Glad I chose a sample of the Akkerman Dutch Masters Rembrandt’s Karmozijn. It’s a rich, deeply-pigmented red and feels perfect for fall.

Rich red with depth
This red has a nice luxurious look. On the darker side, like a well aged red. Maybe a hint of blue. Makes me think of a merlot.

Blood Red
Blood red is the best way to describe the ink in liquid form. Deep red on ivory or white paper with no hint of pink. Not garish. Suitable for the office or personal correspondence.
