J Herbin Shogun from the 1670 collection is a deep brown ink with low shading and gold and red shimmer. It dries in 50 seconds in a medium nib on Rhodia and has an average flow. J Herbin ink is made in France.
Shogun by Kenzo Takada is a part of a new collection of inks “créations d’artistes” exclusive by Jacques Herbin honoring personalities, recognized for their talents.
Kenzo Takada is a Japaniesse fashion designer living in France that is know worldwide for his perfumes, skincare products and clothing lines. Kenzo Takada had co-founded K三 («K3»), a luxury brand dedicated to the art of living, with Jonathan Bouchet Manheim, the brand’s managing director, in 2019 as artistic director. Kenzo Takada sadly passed away on October 4th 2020, just as the partnership with Jacques Herbin, who was dear to him, had started. This ink is thus a homage to this exceptional man.
This twilight-colored ink, reminiscent of a beautiful night of stars, is coated with fine red and gold glitter. The resulting hue is reminiscent of certain armours from the Shogun era, for which Kenzo Takada held a fine appreciation.
