Jacques Herbin Orange Soleil is a clean, clear, bright orange; a happy colour! It is very close to Scribo Arancio di Sicilia and Aurora Orange, which are slightly redder. It is yel... view morelower than Taccia Daidai. It offers more shading in a drier nib than a wetter one. It has an average flow and presents more saturation than other oranges (I’m looking at you Orange Indien!). In areas where the ink pools, the tone is very close to Kobe #25 Tarumi Apricot. I can see some golden-silvery sheen at the very edge of where the ink pools in heavy application. Sailor’s Apricot and Kin-Mokusei are both yellower. Because it is very bright, I will use it when proofreading because it stands out nicely against black fonts; perhaps also when doing to-do lists when using my wet Sailor 1911L 21 kt H-MF LF nib. view less
