Terre d’Ombre is a brown, “burnt earth” color ink, adorned with fallow tones as well as reddish highlights. Beautifully intense, Terre d’Ombre is a sophisticated and warm writing ink.
Without overload or artifice, with a sober and elegant brightness, Jacques Herbin inks (Made in France) echo the shades of watercolor colors. They are the accomplices of any amateur or connoisseur of the arts of pen and graphic arts, artists and travelers.
50ml bottle or 7-pack of International long cartridges available
Similar but slightly darker than J. Herbin Café des Îles from the regular line and Diamine Ochre, Terre d’Ombre is their more saturated sibling. It reminds me of Kobe #16 Nada Brow... view moren and Kobe #52 Shioya Vintage Sepia. I don’t see much shading with my nib and paper combos. I enjoy redder- and orange-leaning browns, but this brown is not so yellow-leaning to stop me from using it on white coloured paper; ivory and cream papers make it veer too yellow. view less
