Diamine China Blue is a gorgeous medium blue fountain pen ink with medium shading and low pink sheen. The color is inspired from the classic blue imagery often seen on fine China or porcelain. It dries in 20 seconds in a medium nib on Rhodia and has an average flow. Diamine ink has been made in England since 1864.

I really like this color, but ...
... I wish Diamine would include a note in their descriptions that they are referring to the color of the typical plates in your favorite Chinese restaurant and not some characteri...view morestic of the Chinese sky or the ocean offshore near Hong Kong. Nonetheless, gorgeous ink, especially great in its simplicity. Also one of the better matches of all the inks I have tried to match to Carolina Blue. Note that the ink changes somewhat in color in the first couple of weeks on most papers. The change is a fade like that of your favorite blue jeans. I personally like this ink more after two weeks than when it first goes down on the paper. view less

Lovely lighter clear blue...
I love this color on its own merits, a clear light blue that offers some nice shading. I also love to make custom blends, might be the mad scientist in me. This shade mixed with ...view moreAqua Lagoon made a beautiful color that retained lots of shading qualities. If I need some sparkle, I'll throw in some Diamine Blue Lightning in for a soft shimmer rather than go full throttle. Diamine inks have thus far mixed very well for me, I use the tester bottles I get from Vanness for my custom blends- then I don't waste much, just in case it's not perfect. Although China Blue is a light blue, it still offers good saturation and shading - just not water-resistance. A soft and light, but very pleasing blue color. view less
